My Chicken

C'era has become quite the little girl. I would have never guessed when she was a baby that she would get a nickname of "chicken".  The babysitter calls her chicken, we call her chicken, and the funny thing is that she responds.  How is she ever going to explain to people that she was called chicken out of endearment and not out of teasing.

C'era loves to use her bowl as a hat while she eats her meals.
Being locked out of the garage while dad works on
the fun stuff.
C'era loves to be out in the garage with dad.  Brooks found a way to keep her in the house while he was home with the kids by himself.  Just put a gate up and WALAH!  It didn't last too long though, C'era started biting the gate and taking chunks of it along with her.  A mouthful of plastic covering is no good.

She is such a helper!

I often find her sitting on the door of the dishwasher.  I don't know if that is a clue that she is going to enjoy loading the dishwasher when she is older or if she sits there just because she knows that it drives me crazy!  I do love her! It's hard to believe that she is already 16 months old!  What a sweetheart!

My Best Friend Brady

There aren't many boys Marshall's age in our nieghborhood.  Actually he is the only boy in his Sunbeams class in church.  He has become pretty attached to Brady who is 2 years older than he is and loves to play with him. The exciting part is that Brady lives behind us.  His mom and I often just pass the boys across the fence so they can have thier play time.  Marshall calls Brady "my best friend Brady".  It is so fun to watch Marshall run around and play with other boys rather than have to play with his little sister all the time.  I'm sure he doesn't mind playing with C'era but sometimes you gotta play swords and share a golf cart with another boy right?

An Icecream kind of day.....

I had all these wonderful plans of being ready for Bunco tomorrow night when it all went to the pot...
C'era woke up yesterday morning with a really really bad diaper rash (so I thought) Brooks' cousin came over last night and said she thought it was a yeast infection but to give it a couple of days to see what it did.
This morning C'era woke up covered from head to toe in "diaper rash". I called my mom and sent pictures of it to her and she suggested I get it checked out to make sure it wasn't contagious.
I set an appointment for 10 this morning and went on my merry way to get ready for the day.  At 930 I went out to load my two chicks in the car and to my dismay the back tire was  FLAT AS A PANCAKE!!!!!!
After several phone calls Tanji came to our rescue and took us to our appointment. Needless to say we were 10 minutes late and had to wait another 20 minutes in the waiting room to be "worked in" to the schedule again.
C'era HATES the drs office. She knows where we are as soon as I set her down on a scale to be weighed.  And she screams bloody murder! But once we are back in the "other waiting" area she is fine until the dr enters the room.
Today we are inflicted with hand foot and mouth disease. The dr informs me that it is very contagious and she probably shouldn't be around other children for a week. Then she throws in that its mostly contagious through her saliva, and that I should keep an eye on Marshall because he may contract it. Great thats all I need two kids with a highly contagious rash. I very well can't take them to the babysitters to get all the other kids sick with hand foot and mouth disease can I? Once out of the office I call my rescuer Tanji to take me home.
When I return home my tire is flatter than it was when I left. Grr..I had called Brooks and he suggested that I fire up the compressor and fill the tire with air and take it to the tire store. It took my 15 minutes and a screaming baby to get enough air in the tire to drive 5 minutes away.
We get to the tire store and turn in my keys and Marshall decides he wants to play Hide-n-Seek in the tires. I can just picture it now....Mommy come find me...bounce bounce bounce....tires rolling throughout the store. I put an end to that by calling my dad to come get us since we were going to have to wait a gruelling hour before the car was done.  My dad let me take his truck in which I am very thankful.  But when we dropped him back off at work and returned home. I didn't have a house key....the house key was at the TIRE STORE!!!!  I load my two beauty's back into the truck and headed to Del Taco drive through since my children were starving and then straight to "Gramma Grapes" (Great Grandmas). Two hours later I finally walk through my door with the knowledge that my car needs and alignment and the back tires probably should go no further than washington a couple of times. On the upside the tire guy says that my tires PROBABLY have some warranty left on them and they can do an alignment for 70-80 dollars. (written with sarcasm) I don't have 70-80 dollars for an alignment and the possibility that I will have some kind of discount on two new tires is unlikely. What if I don't have a discount and have to pay full price.....
Good thing I had a half a gallon of ice cream in my freezer because I definatly need a bowl or two!!!  Hope you all have a better day than I did!

Life at the Turner house

Life at the Turner house is pretty hectic.

Marshall is a pretty busy 3 year old.  He has become pretty independent in the past months. He is just made the big accomplishment of going potty in the toilet. He will not let anybody help him climb into to the car and buckle him...in his words "let me climb". He really really wants to go to school.  He will sit on our couch with his backpack in hand and watch all the kids being dropped off in the mornings. He doesn't quite understand that he is to young still.....starting preschool next year though :)
Marshall is obessed with Cars.  He eats, breaths, and lives Cars. He got a "big boy bed in Feburary and HAD to have Lightening McQueen sheets.  Let's say that he goes to bed and dreams being a racer one day...

C'era is the little princess in this house.  At 18 months she pretty much has her daddy wrapped around her little finger, whatever she wants she gets from daddy. I can only imagine what her teenage years are going to be like!
You will rarely find C'era carrying around a baby doll, even though she has a dozen of them! She would much rather push around one of her brothers cars. She has some girlyness in her though! She loves her bead necklaces and her purses and has the attitude to go with it!

Brooks is a very hard worker and a wonderful father!  He works at the local newspaper plant and has a garage full of hobbies here at home to keep him busy in his "spare time"....whatever that is! The kids love to be in the garage "helping" him build guitars or work on his cars. He is a very talented man and I love him!

I love being at home with my kids but in this day in age it is just not possible for us right now for me to be home full time...the day for that happening is coming in the future I hope! I am transitioning into becoming the Manager at Tuesday Morning (it's a store). I love to make cookies with Marshall, it is our favorite thing to do on my day off while sissy is taking a nap...Dad doesn't complain either when the cookie jar is full!
That's a little about us and I hope that I can continue to keep up this blog that I have started over....

Trying again...

I have started a blog once before A LONG time ago and I can't remember where it is....so here I am trying agian...
